Travis Baugh and Matt Gough competed on July 31st in Winter Park at the Crankworx Colorado Cross-Country, race #5 in the 7-race Colorado Crankworx series, representing Team Peloton-Specialized well by finishing 12th in the Expert category and 5th in Sport, respectively.
Matt reports, “The weather was perfect and the course was a blast. It included a mix of fire roads, technical singletrack, and smooth swoopy trails. The pace was fast and furious from the start but settled in quickly once the race hit the base of the Elk Creek climb (elevation 10,500 ft). The course then dropped back down through a stand of evergreens to more service roads and then on to the resort for the final climb and fast decent to the base.”

Make this your race for next year if you aren’t participating in the Laramie Enduro. There are two more races in this series left this year: the Mary Jane Circuit on August 14th which includes a mountaintop circuit with a modified Super-D finish, and the Tipperary Creek Point-to-Point/King of the Rockies finale event on August 28th.
